My preferred learning style is what most other students strongly dislike. I learn best when the class is strictly lecture (usually with a guiding outline projected in the front) and the class is spent taking notes. It may sound ineffective to teach in this manner; however, i found classes where professors teach this way tend to be the classes I do best in. I dont really like group work and try to avoid it as much as possible and i also do not really like collective projects/ paper (where one thing is written and then you continually add to it over time) because if you do poorly on one part, or lose interest in the topic, it has a strong negative impact on your grade overall. One thing that I enjoy doing in class is using all of the new technology available (to an extent). I like it when teachers use PowerPoint presentations to help aid their discussions in class and I like the incorporation of the "clikers" during class and for tests. However to elaborate on the "to an extent" comment, I do not like that EVERYTHING is online/ on computers now. I prefer worksheet homework and some tests/quizzes using pencil and paper. Outside of school, I love watching/ attending Phialdelphia Phillies and Flyers games or just wandering around downtown Philadelphia with my friends. I also enjoy playing softball and baking at home. Something that I would like to know about my colleagues is what their hometowns are like? I'm from a very large city and that's all i have ever experienced. I find some of the extremely small, close-knit, one high school, farm-towns that many of the students from Bloomsburg are from extremely interesting!
